The Last Mammoth of Wrangel Island is inspired by the mammoths that lived on Wrangel Island, an isolated Arctic island north of Siberia, until as recently as four thousand years ago, around the same time the pyramids were built. The piece creates an atmosphere and space of the windswept canyon and imagines the cries of the last living mammoth.
