Secaucus Junction is a railroad station in New Jersey that connects all the rail lines in NJ before they cross the Hudson River into New York City.  This piece is a tribute to the hour-long train ride on the Morris-Essex NJ Transit line from my home town of Chatham, NJ through Secaucus Junction and into New York City.  The train journeys through the heart of New Jersey suburbs, through industrial urban areas, and over vast marshlands before heading directly into the Big Apple. Secaucus Junction incapsulates the mythical experiences, sounds, and people on this short solo train ride through some subtle and some not-so-subtle musical quotations.
